Happy Fall Everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying the start of autumn and that the cooler weather continues.

We have a very busy month this October. We have two VP Visitations this month celebrating our Northeast District VP, Becky Spence. The first is at the Orange Park Lodge on Saturday, October 3rd, and the second is going to be at the Gainesville Lodge on Saturday, October 24th. Both start at 5PM with cocktails and appetizers with dinner to follow at 6PM. We are in competition with the other lodges in the district for the greatest attendance at each visitation with the winner getting $200 donated to Harry Anna for the winning lodge. So far we have won the last two dinners, and we’d love to make it a clean sweep! If you would like to attend, please sign up at the lodge or contact the lodge secretary.

On Saturday, October 3rd at 9 AM we will also have members of the Clay County Fire and Rescue Department coming to the lodge to conduct a CPR/AED Training and Overdose Instruction. If you would like to attend, please register on the lodge website at https://elksgcs1892.com.

On Saturday, October 17th we will be holding our annual Hoop Shoot Contest at the Thomas Hogan Memorial Gym in Green Cove Springs. Please see flyers in the newsletter for information about volunteering or how to sign up if you have children who would like to compete.

We will end the month with our annual Halloween Dinner and Dance. We hope to see you whether you come in costume or not. It will be a fantastic night, and you don’t want to miss it.

We are also kicking off our “Keeping Us Covered” roof repair fundraiser this month, and I hope you will consider making a donation to this campaign. It is a much needed project that is essential to our continued success.
