May was a very busy month, and as you read this many of the officers will have just returned from Florida State Elks Association Convention where we had a wonderful time learning from other Elks across the state. In next month’s newsletter we’ll have pictures and more information to share. Last month we also celebrated Mother’s Day, and I hope you were able to join us. It was a beautiful ceremony, and the food was fantastic. This month we have more exciting things lined up for our members, and we hope to see you at the lodge.

On Sunday, June 14th at 12 PM we will be celebrating Flag Day. This is an important day for us as Elks because the flag and all it represents is so important to us as an inherently American organization. As Elks we celebrate Flag Day every year with a ceremony honoring the history of our flag and our country. This year as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country, it seems even more important that we continue this outstanding tradition. If you have never attended this event, please join us this year, and if you have you know how moving it is, and I hope to see you again. After the ceremony we will have a light lunch for all attendees.

This month we will also be celebrating Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21st. As we honor our Fathers and the important role they play in our lives, we will be giving all Fathers a free entrée from our amazing Sunday menu.

I also want to let everyone know that we are planning a grand celebration for the 250th Anniversary of our country. We will be having a Dock Party on Saturday, July 4th and tickets will be on sale at the bar very soon.
