Exaulted Rulers Message

NOVEMBER MESSAGE

From Our Exalted Ruler, Jennifer Parker

"Together, Elks Make It Happen"

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder! The holidays will soon be here and the Lodge is abuzz with activity in preparation! From setting up the Christmas trees in Spring Park for the City’s Parade of Trees to assembling the gift bags for the children visiting Santa’s Workshop, there are volunteer opportunities aplenty for all our members. Please don’t hesitate to get involved! We need your support!

We have a number of special events coming up in November!

District VP Ed Weston’s next Visitation will be here at the Green Cove Springs Lodge on November 9! Elks from across the District will be joining us! This evening of good fellowship and great food will be an opportunity for our Lodge to really shine! As we get closer to the date, a sign up sheet for dinner will be posted at the bar! Please mark your calendars and plan on attending! Members interested in volunteering for this Visita-tion should speak with House Committee Chair Eric Thorsen.

The Order of the Elks has designated November as Veterans Remembrance Month. Please join us on Sunday, November 10 for our Veteran’s Day Observance. As a way of expressing our thanks for their service, every Veteran who attends may choose one complimentary entree from the menu from 1 to 7 PM. Cake will be available while supplies last! We hope that you will be able to join us on this very special day as we honor and celebrate our heroes.

On Friday, November 8, Music Bingo will be back by popular demand! Come test your knowledge of music from the 1970s to present day! One line, two line, and cover all games will be offered! You could win a prize! The menu that evening will feature such Filipino Culinary Delights as Lumpia, Pancit, and Adobo pre-pared by our very own Aiza Orvosh! And it’s also our monthly Birthday Celebration night so there will be cake!

Finally, let us remember that November is the time to be thankful, to remember, and to embrace those who enrich our lives. I am so grateful that I belong to such an incredible Lodge with so many kind, generous, and supportive Elks! Thank you for being my greatest blessing and inspiration!

May your Thanksgiving be full of peace, love, and joy!
